Recycling Culture by Wojciech Gilewicz

Workshop on Collage

Collage is one hundred years old technique. It's about putting different materials (paper, plastic, robe, glue etc - possibilities are endless) into one piece of art.
The first who used this technique was Picasso at the beginning of 20th century.
After many years it's still fresh or even gainings more recognition among artists.

What is so fascinating in cutting out of fragments of existing photographs and putting them into one new work in a different order?
Is our modern culture similar to that process?
Is our modern life recyclable like all of those existing images to be used again with different meaning?

For this workshop participants will use photos and other images already existed to create brand new pieces of art followed with some very short introduction from the art history
