SHIINA, Takehito

Born in 1973. Lives and works in Sendai, Japan. As represented in Kazan-Yaki (Magma Firings), the project to fire clay modeling into terracotta sculpture at the active volcano, he has been exploring the way to reinterpret the various phenomena with the viewpoint of plastic art. He is especially interested in the relationship between the phenomena and earth environment or space of time. In ARCUS, he is planning to create video work and three dimensional work based on the research on the old Kappa story in Ushiku-city, Ibaraki.
