Biography
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA in 1964. Obtained BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987. Lives and works in New York.

During residency
Continued working on The Look Stains, a project which he started in 1987 to make a drawing everyday to observe change and transformation through time. He also started a new project Oil Tea in which he placed either oil or tea depending on the outcome of
tossing a dice.

Particpants were asked to bring liquid that related to their favorite taste, color, smell, and touch. Following Brown's instructions, they tossed dice to select paper and liquid and dyed paper in the 'tray' (bath tub).
